Our City of Santa Cruz staff and officials look forward to speaking with YOU one-on-one at City Hall to YOU on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Elks Lodge, 150 Jewell St.

Highlights of this community forum will include Public Safety Team progress and development for Ocean Street Corridor and the Upper Eastside. These topics will be addressed during the town hall portion of the event when Vice Mayor Cynthia Chase and executive staff will speak and answer your questions.

Displays of Ocean Street and Upper Eastside building projects including the Hyatt Place Hotel on Broadway, the Memory Care Facility at 150 Jewell St. and the 1930 Ocean St. Extension project will be featured at three Planning Department tables. You will be able to dialogue with staff regarding these and other projects during the 90-minute open house portion of the event.

The open house will host 17 more booths with displays of other City projects and programs relevant to Ocean Street and Upper Eastside neighborhoods. Police Department tables will provide opportunity for dialogue with Police Chief Kevin Vogel and both deputy police chiefs.

Westside City Hall to YOU attendees dialogued directly with Santa Cruz City engineers on Aug. 31, 2016.

 

New to the City Hall to YOU quarterly series, the event will include several demonstrations: see how best to stack sandbags to guard against flooding and watch Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) volunteers in action – a sample of the free training that is offered to City residents through the Fire Department.
