August 18th was the 3rd Annual Point Lobos State Reserve Kelp Bed Clean Up of Plastics and Trash. This collaborative effort was created to bring awareness on the escalating issue that plastics and trash are having in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuaries marine life. This years clean up evolved to include scuba divers, kayaks, free diving, and stand up paddle-boards. Community leaders from the CA State Parks, Save Our Shores, The Surfrider Foundation Monterey, Ka Kei O’Uhane Outrigger Canoe club, Rack N Road, Santa Cruz Waves and our first Kelp Farmer Ian O’Hollaren. We are getting our date for 2018! My great thanks to everyone that participated. Brent Allen Outside www.brentallenoutside.com
