  1. Thank you Jeff. You capture my brother in words and images so beautifully. He was a guiding and inspiring force my whole life. He led me out into the waves and protected me there. Thanks so much.

  2. Thank you for posting these. Marty taught me how to surf when we lived in Ghana. I was 12.
    Missing my big bro.

  3. Another eastside icon surfing with the angels. Marty was the most stoked person in the lineup and on land. I will forever miss his infectious laugh and ear to ear grins. The sight of Marty jamming around the point with canine companion firmly planted on his motor scooter will be one of the things I will forever miss…. Goodbye friend

  4. Marty, you made everyone around you feel special. Your stoke made me feel like I was surfing better than I actually was. Your gratitude always refocused my attention to how fortunate we are. You are a man that made the world a better place by the joy you spread. Thank you friend!

Past few days and some amazing changes have happened in our little rockview routine that are sure fire signs that he didn’t just kick back when he got to heaven he’s rock in it up there for humanity’s future

  6. What great guy! Great mechanic, incredible piano player a happy loving spirit, I’ll miss him, thanks for sharing the pics

  7. Marty was the most wonderful person I have ever known. His love and devotion to life rubbed off on me in all the right ways. I truely will miss him and the heart and soul he shared with myself and others. My blessings to his family for Marty loved them so much. I will miss you my brother. Thanks for being a true spirit in all our lives. Rick Leachman

  8. I love Marty so much, it’s so hard to accept the loss. I had the honor of test riding some of his boards and even more honored that he helped me fix my boards and my car. he loved everyone and shared so much stoke. he was such a gentleman and a great spiritual man. I learned so much from him, singing in the morning together, getting “baptised” in the waters, flat or firing. Marty will forever live in our hearts. Rockview will not be the same without him.
