Tyler Warren is a shredder. Known equally for his talents as a surfer, shaper, and an artist, he can now add humanitarian to the list. The 2018 SurfAid Cup event series will feature one of Tyler’s custom oil paintings titled, “Looking Good.”
Tyler has had numerous exhibitions in Japan, Europe, Hawaii and more. In 2011 at the age of 24, Tyler signed Billabong as an artist and professional free surfer. Tyler shaped his first board at the age of 14 and over the years has worked with legendary shapers such as Terry Martin, Midget Smith, Malcolm Campbell, Chris Christensen, Gary Larson, Manuel Caro, Josh Hall, and Robin Kegel. These diverse influences have led Tyler to strive to shape, ride and evolve all types
of designs over the last decade.
Tyler got involved with SurfAid over a decade ago and has helped raise funds and awareness for the organization through donating his art and surfing as a pro in the SurfAid Cup event series.
Tyler will be one of the featured pros and the inaugural SurfAid Cup Encinitas on May 12th . “I’m happy to support the SurfAid Cup since it helps raise money for helping others in need.” The SurfAid Cup is a legendary day of surfing that supports SurfAid’s life-saving Mother and Child Health Program’s – bringing clean water & sanitation, basic healthcare, and improved nutrition to SurfAid supported communities with some of the highest maternal and child
mortality rates in the world.
The event is open to shortboarders and longboarders of all ages and abilities and is a tag-team format. Teams of four commit to raising funds for SurfAid and the team’s 5 th member is a pro or local legend provided by SurfAid. The event has been supported by some of surfing’s most iconic and recognizable legends including Tom Carroll, Shane Dorian, Mark “Occy” Occhilupo, Rob Machado, Owen Wright, Sally Fitzgibbons, Robert “Wingnut” Weaver, Lisa Andersen, Joel
Tudor, Nat Young and Taj Burrow.
The SurfAid Cup is your opportunity to surf and save a life. Done while mingling with the pro’s and being one of the lucky few to have the lineup all to yourself. Registration is now open for three US based SurfAid Cup events; Santa Cruz (April 29), Encinitas (May 12), and Malibu (September 8).
