SCW: Congratulations on receiving Model of the Month!
Brittany: Thank you
SCW: Let’s start with name, age, and hometown.
Brittany: My name is Brittany Gosline. I am 23, and my hometown is Santa Cruz.
SCW: Nice, can you please tell us a bit about yourself and what you like to do for fun.
Brittany: I’ve done a lot of traveling and moving around in the last 5 years; Santa Cruz is my home base. I rock climb, practice lots of yoga, and I’m currently studying to be a massage therapist. I like to celebrate life everyday as much as I can.
SCW: Wonderful. How much longer are you studying massage therapy?
Brittany: One more month. Almost there!
SCW: Congrats! If you could have lunch with anyone in the world living or dead, who would it be?
Brittany: I was thinking Frida Kahlo or Ziggy Marley. I would love to hear Frida’s story and I imagine her to be a really spunky person full of wisdom. She seems like the kind of strong woman that I hope to be one day.
SCW: Very nice. Where did you go on your last vacation?
Brittany: On my last vacation, I was in Puerto Rico. Lots of adventures like hiking and waterfalls. I visited a tiny island just outside of Puerto Rico with my sister and a friend; it was great.
SCW: Did you spend a lot of time at the beach there?
Brittany: Oh yeah, the beach and hostels. We cut down a lot of cocoanuts too.
SCW: Favorite ice cream flavor?
Brittany: Cocoanut Bliss. You can get it at New Leaf or Whole Foods. Any of the flavors are really good. It’s the only ice cream I like.
SCW: Yum. Can you tell us a bit about Synergy Clothing?
Brittany: Yes, I’ve been working for them for over a year and a half now. It’s a beautiful company. I help them manage three retail stores, two in Santa Cruz and one in San Francisco. I work with an amazing team; they are like family to me. They are doing great things for women in Nepal and the environment so it’s a fantastic company to work for.
SCW: Who do you see as a positive role model for women in 2014?
Brittany: I’d like to get a little creative with this one. I think in 2014 for women, the yin and yang are coming into balance. I feel like it is our year to find the women in ourselves, and for each of us to look to positive women role models for guidance.
SCW: Well said. Are there any special mentions you would like to give?
Brittany: I’m so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. A special thank you to my family and friends. My brother is a huge inspiration for me right now; he battled cancer for a long time and has now traveled to a different place in life. He taught me how to make each day count and love all the people in my life. Also another big thank you to Synergy Clothing, L’Atelier Salon for hair and makeup, and Santa Cruz Waves.
SCW: Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions.
Brittany: Thank you.
