The Sun and Salt Collective is a new Santa Cruz company offering all inclusive, boutique style surf-and-yoga retreats for women.

“Every aspect of the program is infused with the desire to create space for meaningful connections with each other, our own selves, and of course the ocean,” says founder and Santa Cruz local surfer Cass Keller.

Keller’s vision for the retreat was formed by her two decades of traveling to the most beautiful surf destinations around the world.

“The environment that I’m aiming to create with these experiences with Sun and Salt Collective are based greatly on the influence of my travels,” she says. “What I came to appreciate was that no matter where I was in the world and however far from home, outside my realm of familiarity, I found people who provided a sense of warmth and welcome.”

The program runs for four days and three nights, catering specifically to women who are interested in connecting deeper with their own spirituality, bonding, self-empowerment, and personal health. The group will stay at a private beach house situated steps away from Pleasure Point—one of Santa Cruz’s most famous surf breaks. Two private surf lessons are included as well as daily yoga practice. Gourmet meals are prepared on site by private chef Jessica Wadatz, of Native Cookery.

“Creating meals that bring people joy is what I strive for as well as being in line with seasonal local bounty and listening to the body,” says Wadatz. “The Santa Cruz area offers a mecca of food, ferments, farmers markets, wine, craft beer, and it’s a fun light-hearted experience to gather around a table and partake in our native food.”

Next retreat dates: September 12-15th, 2019.
